The Excellence in Technical Instruction award was established to recognize the contributions of Don Byers, C.E.T.

From 1990 until 1999, Don worked with ASET as Registrar and later as Executive Director. One of the major achievements during this time was getting national standards in place and the establishment of national benchmarks. Prior to joining ASET, Don was an instructor at NAIT for 20 years with expertise in chemistry.
