Recertification/Reinstatement

One-time members who wish to rejoin ASET may have different steps to take depending on their most recent membership category.

Certified members
C.Tech., C.E.T.

Former certified members can be reinstated at their previous level of certification if they apply within two years of the calendar year in which their membership ended. These former members would be required to pay the current and past year's dues and late fees accordingly.

After two years, the former member is required to re-apply.

There is no guarantee that a person re-applying for certification will gain the same status they previously held. The membership category awarded by the Registration Board will depend on the assessment of the applicant's academic and experience background against the current requirements. Additional academic and/or experience requirements may be assessed, in some cases greater than those when the member's qualifications were originally evaluated.
