from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She also holds
a certificate in project management from NAIT, and is a
member of the Project Management Institute, where she
obtained her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
As president, Susan's strategy will involve
encouraging ASET to continue developing programs and
services aimed at helping members adapt to the changing
workplace and industry to futureproof their careers. This includes
helping members to find new career opportunities in
occupations that are in demand and emerging technologies
like the green economy, artificial intelligence and AgTech.
This can be done through partnering with post-secondary
institutions to encourage members to enroll in professional
development courses. As a result, they can gain new skills
that would help them navigate the dynamic job market effectively.
She will also encourage and support the ASET leadership
team to continue building relationships with industry partners
to grow their career centre and provide information
to members on opportunities in their respective fields. In
addition, she will encourage partnering with subject matter
experts to provide information sessions on emerging
technologies and best practices in the different technology
disciplines.
