ASET Awards

Do you know a member, instructor, company, or supporter of ASET who has made outstanding contributions to the profession through technical excellence, leadership, innovation, and/or professionalism?

Recognize their distinction with an ASET Award!

In 2020, ASET Award winners were recognized for their readiness to invest in technical training and support employees’ career development, innovation in technology and support of fellow professionals, dedication to helping the next generation of technology professionals succeed, and efforts to help their professional community reach its goals.

Winners will be announced and honored at the upcoming ASET Awards and featured through our website and publications.

2021 ASET Award Nominations are now CLOSED.

Award Categories

ASET Award of Excellence

The ASET Award of Excellence recognizes individuals or organizations that have performed an act and/or made an outstanding contribution that exemplifies the important role technologists and technicians serve in our community.

ASET Outstanding Educator Award

This award showcases an educator who has demonstrated an outstanding level of professionalism and excellence in making a significant contribution to the study of technology.

ASET Award for Outstanding Employer Support

This award is given to an employer(s) for their leadership and commitment to working with ASET to advocate for and advance the best interests of certified technicians and technologists in Alberta.

Capstone Project of the Year

The Capstone Project of the Year is awarded to engineering technology students who show innovation and ingenuity through their capstone project. This project is part of an engineering technology student’s end-of-program requirements. The award was established in 2017, in response to overwhelming member interest in capstone projects undertaken by teams of engineering technology students from NAIT, SAIT, Red Deer College and Lethbridge College.

Volunteer of the Year

ASET's volunteers are the lifeblood of the association. Members give their time, energy and enthusiasm to helping the association achieve its goals. In recognition of exceptional contribution and participation, an ASET volunteer is awarded this honour each year.

President’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring

ASET's mentors use their wealth of experience and knowledge to help junior members understand what’s needed to succeed as a technology professional. In recognition of their commitment to helping the next generation, an ASET mentor is awarded this honour each year.

President’s Award

Awarded to an individual who has supported and guided the President during their incumbency.
